How do I set Periods and Overtime for a Tournament?

Last Updated: Aug 24, 2016 07:12PM CDT
Setting periods and overtime rules will determine what type of time interval, length of time, and how long an overtime session will run.

Note: Ranking criteria, point value fields, and tiebreakers are sport-specific (i.e. fair play points are for ice hockey only).

To set the Periods and Overtime for a tournament, do the following:

  1. Log into the Tournament Tool.
  2. Select your tournament.
  3. Under Settings, click the Periods & Overtime tab.
  4. Configure the following options:
    1. Type: Set the type to how the game is measured: Half, Period, Quarter, or Set
    2. Periods: Set the limit for each period and/or add additional time periods.
    3. Overtime Length: Enter the minutes for the overtime period.
    4. Shootouts: Select the checkbox if you want to allow shootouts to be added to a game.
  5. Click Save Changes
