How do I request for my registration to have a payment plan?

Please note that you want a payment plan when you fill out a registration request.

How flexible are SportsEngine payment plans?

On any fee charged in the registration system SportsEngine can set up a payment plan where any amount is taken out at the time of registration and SportsEngine can set any number of payments an organization needs on any future date. The future due amounts need to be in equal amounts.

ex. Total Registration Fee is $500. Amount due at registration is $100 with a $200 payment on any future dates.

How does a registrant select to pay using a payment plan?
On the shopping cart page select Scheduled Payments when a payment plan is set up in a registration session.

Are you able to charge different amounts for a payment plan than a pay in full option?
Yes. The organization can set different amounts to be charged for a pay in full and a payment plan option.

Are you able to change the amount of money a person owes after they register for a payment plan?
No. An admin can only cancel all future payment plans in any order that has a payment plan, but can not change the amount owed. When a person registers for a payment plan they're entering in to a payment agreement.

How are discount codes applied to payment plans? (Discount Code Information)
Discount codes are applied across all payments on the shopping cart page. On the example below $25 was discounted on the deposit and $25 is applied to the first payment. If more money was required at the time of registration, more of a discount would have been applied to the deposit amount and less on the future payment.

Are registrants emailed before and when they are charged for a payment on a payment plan?
Yes. A registrant's primary email address will be emailed 5 days prior to the agreed upon payment is withdrawn from the original source of payment and once the payment is processed. If an admin registers a registrant the admins primary email address will be emailed.

Is a registrant able to change a credit card or bank account before the funds are withdrawn?
Yes. A registration can change the credit card used when they receive the payment reminder email or by clicking on purchased items in a registrant's dashboard.

Is an Admin able to change a credit card before the funds are withdrawn?
Yes. An admin can see all of the failed payments by going to admin control panel> financial tab> failed payments> make payment.

What happens when a payment fails to process?
Both the registrant and the admin who has an email address attached to the registration will be emailed. An admin can add an email address to a registrations in the registration session settings area on all registrations to get this notification.

Note: If you enable payment plans make sure an admin checks either the failed payments area or check the emails on the failed payments.
